Electrostatic disinfection is intended to disinfect surfaces on contact - killing any germs, bacteria, or viruses that are on those surfaces after the recommended dwell time. It cannot prevent reinfection once the surface is exposed to germs, bacteria, or viruses once again.

Some facilities that see higher traffic and use, such as hospitals, schools, and gyms are exposed to many potential pathogens on a daily basis, and would benefit from daily electrostatic disinfection. Others, such as closed offices, may only need to be electrostatically disinfected once a week.
